New URS Member Portal Launches March 30
URS will launch its upgraded member portal - AUREUS -- Monday, March 30. Here are some things you should know.
Access
Each URS member has been issued a new member ID number. You will need this to access the new system. If you didn't grab your number before the blackout period, please email benefits@saltlakecounty.gov.
New Roth Benefits
An exciting change to Salt Lake County's retirement plan lineup is the addition of Roth 401k and Roth 457b options! Enrollment in these new plans can happen any time during the year.
Money deferred to a Roth is taxed now, but the earnings on those funds can be tax-free in retirement. Roth allows additional ways to diversify in your overall retirement plan.
URS has compiled answers to questions about Roth 401k and Roth 457b in this Frequently Asked Questions handout.
For additional learning, visit https://www.urs.org/members/roths to find videos and registration for upcoming webinars (April 29, May 18).
Thanks for Your Patience
The launch on March 30 will impact 500+ employers across Utah and there will be a learning curve for us all. Your access to make changes should be available on Monday, but it may take some time to see some status changes or payroll data updates. We appreciate your patience with URS and Benefits as we undertake this large transition. If you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to Benefits by email or calling 385-468-0580.
