Mt Olympus Senior Center

Mt. Olympus Senior Center is located directly west of the Lion’s Fitness and Recreation Center at 1635 E. Murray-Holladay Rd.

Formerly known as East Side Senior Center, the center was initially operated out of the Christ United Methodist Church. The present Mt. Olympus Senior Center building was completed in 1997.

Since Mt. Olympus first opened their doors, the center has been an eventful, lively center offering a surplus of educational classes, lectures, fitness and well-being classes. Mt. Olympus has a very active and educated community that loves to give back.  Many participants are active volunteers that teach classes at the center as well.

Welcome to the Mt Olympus Senior Center

A large stone monument.

The Mt. Olympus Senior Center provides opportunities for people 60 and over to improve their talents, enrich their minds, give service in the community, develop meaningful friendships, and help maintain physical health through good nutrition and exercise.
The center offers a wide range of programs. We consider the center a place where participants can be involved in an abundance of classes and special activities. We provide classes from Poetry to French and just about everything in between. For those wanting to explore their creative side, the center offers opportunities in art, such as, ceramics, oil, water and tole painting, and even knitting/crocheting. We are proud of our health and exercise programs which include; Tai Chi, Pilates, Meditation, EnhanceFitness, Yoga, Dancing, and Strength Training, as well as a scenic outdoor walking trail, and a treadmill and exercise bikes. The participants who attend the center also enjoy games; they play Bridge, Skipbo, Pinochle and a variety of other games, such as Mexican Train Dominoes, backgammon, Table Tennis and billiards.
