File a Fair Housing Complaint

Tenants in Salt Lake County are protected from discriminatory housing practices by federal and state laws. Tenants with a disability are entitled to reasonable modifications and reasonable accommodations to housing. Tenants who believe that they may have been the victim of housing discrimination can make a complaint with a fair housing enforcement agency.

Tenants with a disability are entitled to reasonable modifications and reasonable accommodations to housing. Modifications are generally at the expense of the tenant and with the permission of the landlord. The landlord cannot unreasonably withhold permission, but can require restoration to the original condition on the unit is vacated.

Salt Lake County's Community Resources & Development Division is committed to assure meaningful access to its programs and activities and equal access to housing to all eligible individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation, familial status or source of income including those person for whom English is not their primary language and who have limited ability to read, write, speak or understand English.
