The Central Jordan River Reconnect project spans five cities—South Salt Lake, Millcreek, Murray, West Valley, and Taylorsville. Workshop events are part of a 14-month public engagement process aimed to develop a comprehensive plan for the regional park that will serve as a resource for recreation, conservation, and community connection.
Residents can drop by any time during the workshop hours to participate. The events are designed to be interactive, casual, and informative, offering multiple ways to explore the Jordan River's past and present, and to help shape its future.
What to Expect at the Workshops:
- Discussions on community needs and guiding principles for the park's design
- Exploration of potential environmental and recreational features
- Interactive opportunities to shape the vision for the regional park
- A chance to connect with project team members and other community participants
"This project is an incredible opportunity for residents to shape a unique regional park that reflects the various interests of our communities," said Dustin Wiberg, Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation planner. "We encourage everyone to participate in these workshops, share their thoughts, and help us build a park that will bring everyone to the river."
