Certain crimes, such as domestic violence and special victims [SM1] cases, carry additional trauma and difficulties and as such the District Attorney’s Office is pleased provide additional support in the form of our Victim Services program. In such cases, Victim Services staff will provide kind and caring support to help you as the case proceeds through the criminal justice process. Social workers and case manager staff will spend time with you to explain the processes, to listen to your concerns, to advocate for your needs, and connect you to other helpful programs for medical care, counseling, or other types of victim assistance in the community. This does not have to be a confusing experience for you. Your voice matters and we are here to help make that happen. We coordinate with the prosecutor assigned to the case to make it easier on you. An award-winning program delivering victim advocacy services since the 1980’s.
Anyone who is a victim of a person crime, especially those being prosecuted by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, is eligible for victim services. Services are not limited solely to these crimes, however, and there is no cost for services.
