DA's Office files Two First-degree Felony Charges of Attempted Rape of a Child against Samuel Fukuyama

Today, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office filed two first-degree felony charges of attempted rape of a child against Samuel Fukuyama. Mr. Fukuyama drove 10 hours from Washington State to Utah to sexually assault a 5-year-old child.

The investigation into Mr. Fukuyama was conducted by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. The FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force assisted in his arrest in Salt Lake County. The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office is a proud partner of this task force.

“This is a very disturbing case of an attempted crime against a child that was brought to us by Homeland Security Investigations. Keeping predators who would exploit the most vulnerable in our community off the streets continues to be our highest priority. We appreciate the work of our partners in law enforcement for their work on this case,” said Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill.

The charges filed are allegations, Samuel Fukuyama remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
