Poll Workers are the welcoming faces at our Vote Centers, ensuring every eligible voter has a positive and accessible voting experience. As representatives of the Clerk's Office, Poll Workers assist with voter check-in, registration, and the use of voting equipment. They play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of the voting process.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and take down voting equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Follow strict procedures outlined by State Law and County Policy.
- Remain neutral on political matters while assisting voters of all backgrounds.
- Guide and teach voters how to use voting machines.
Requirements:
- Be a registered voter in Salt Lake County.
- Be at least 18 years old (or 16 and pre-registered to vote).
- Family members of current candidates are not eligible to serve.
Time Commitments:
- Attend a two-hour, in-person training session the week before the election.
- Dedicate two hours the day before the election for equipment and signage setup.
- Work from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 10:00 p.m. on Election Day.
In accordance with Election Law, all Election Workers will receive a monetary stipend for their service.
