SALT LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEARCH AND RESCUE RECOVERS BODY FOLLOWING ROCK SLIDE NEAR BELL’S CANYON

Little Cottonwood Canyon —  At approximately 8:45 a.m. Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue responded to a report of an individual involved in a rock slide near Bell’s Canyon.

 
Upon arrival, rescue personnel located an unresponsive 49-year-old male. A doctor who happened to be hiking in the area was the first to arrive and render aid. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

Crews conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area and confirmed that no additional victims were seriously injured.
