ICE Dashboard

The intersection between local jail operations and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is an area of public interest. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office does not participate in the federal 287(g) program, does not determine immigration status, and does not make arrests based on immigration status.

ICE Dashboard

As part of standard jail operations, the Salt Lake County Jail does have limited interactions with ICE. This dashboard provides data-based information about those interactions, including:

  • The number of individuals in the jail who have an ICE detainer or ICE hold
  • The number of individuals in the jail's custody on state or federal criminal charges who also have an ICE detainer or ICE hold
  • The number of individuals released from the jail to ICE's custody
  • The number of individuals booked directly into the jail by ICE
