Upper Mill Creek Road Improvement Project Construction Update

S&L has been making progress to Elbow Fork while some areas are being prepared for construction.  

For example, Upper Big Water Trailhead is being prepared with the yurt being removed along with signage in the area and down canyon.  The Pipeline trail bridge and reconfigured trail crossing is now complete at Elbow Fork, and users of the Pipeline and Upper Pipeline trails can cross Mill Creek Canyon Road at a new, safer trail crossing.    

The construction crew will be working on culverts, grading, and removing trees (starting at Big Water Trailhead and coming down canyon) to reduce fuel load and clear areas for construction purposes such as soil nail wall construction.  

All work is being closely supervised by the Federal Highway Administration project manager who is on-site, the US Forest Service Salt Lake District staff and specialists are also consulted on a regular basis and I also monitor the construction.
