Salt Lake County Selected to Participate in the Clean Energy to Communities Program
Salt Lake County - Salt Lake County is proud to announce its selection to participate in the Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) Peer Learning Cohorts program in 2024.
By joining this upcoming year's cohort, Salt Lake County will be placed at the forefront of innovative clean energy and vehicle strategies in the United States. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in partnership with the World Resources Institute.
Chosen as one of 14 local governments nationwide, Salt Lake County will participate in the "Integrating Community Priorities into Electric Vehicle Plans and Projects" The C2C program highlights the county's role in promoting community-driven approaches to clean transportation. The program involves six in-depth workshops focusing on electrified transportation, zero-emissions mobility, and crafting comprehensive transportation plans that resonate with community needs.
"I'm particularly excited to collaborate with colleagues across the nation and exchange valuable insights and expertise," said Emily Paskett, Salt Lake County's Environmental Program Manager. "This opportunity will undoubtedly contribute to our local clean energy objectives, enabling us to develop and implement effective strategies. Ultimately, this will foster a cleaner and healthier environment for our residents."
The initiative will also feature a collaborative effort with the Utah Clean Cities Coalition to integrate community feedback into clean energy and vehicle objectives in Salt Lake County. This partnership highlights the county's dedication to ensuring community voices are central to shaping local clean energy and transportation initiatives.
