How to Get Involved in the Cox-Granato Pre-Apprenticeship Program
Salt Lake County is growing at record rates, creating demand for workers in high-growth construction and building trades (CBT).
The County aims to meet industry needs and support its residents' economic mobility and security through a high-quality pre-apprenticeship program in partnership with Utah Women in Trades (UWIT). This program will prepare participants to successfully interview for and complete registered construction and building trades apprenticeships.
The Pre-Apprenticeship Program will follow Jobs for the Future's Framework for a High-Quality Pre-Apprenticeship Program and will run for 36 months starting August 2023. The program will cover academic remediation, professional skills, and CBT career exploration while providing wraparound support services to remove barriers to enrollment and completion in both pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs.
Upon program completion, qualified participants will have obtained at least one industry credential and are guaranteed an interview for a Registered Apprenticeship Program in their chosen trade.
Interested participants can learn more about the Pre-Apprenticeship Program and apply on the Utah Women in Trades website.
