SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT — Salt Lake County, the State of Utah, and Odyssey House will celebrate the opening of Stonebridge, a new home for women recovering from severe mental illness. The event includes a ribbon cutting and a media tour of the facility.

BACKGROUND: Housing is central to the success of the Behavioral Health and Justice Action Plan's 25 recommendations, and group homes are an area of significant recent progress. Two more group homes are on track to open later this year. Together, the three homes will house 90 people, made possible through a partnership between Salt Lake County and the state Office of Homeless Services. Every resident is referred through an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, arrives already stabilized on medication, and receives 24/7 supervision and wrap-around services. This kind of sustained support helps people stay stable and out of the cycle of crisis.
