Canned-Food Sculptures Built Across Salt Lake County for America250 Food Drive

Salt Lake County, UT — On Friday, May 15, Salt Lake County will host a series of highly visual, community-driven CANstruction build events as part of its America250 initiative, launching a countywide food drive in partnership with Utah Food Bank, AIA Utah, and CANstruction Salt Lake City.

Throughout the day, design teams will construct America-250-themed sculptures made entirely of canned food at multiple Salt Lake County facilities across the valley. These installations mark the kickoff of a summer-long effort to collect food and funds to support local families. All cans used will be donated to Utah Food Bank. Build day will be an exciting day to get a behind-the-scenes look at this important program.

Media are invited to attend any build location to capture the action as structures take shape. Advance coordination available for specific interviews or access
