Salt Lake County Animal Services Celebrates the Grand Opening of Its New Adoption Suite, Made Possible by Mark Miller Subaru and Community Donors

Salt Lake County, UT — Salt Lake County Animal Services is excited to announce the grand opening of its new Adoption Suite, a welcoming space designed to enhance the adoption experience for visitors and help more pets find loving homes.

WHERE: Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W 3900 S, South Salt Lake
WHEN: Friday, November 7, 10 AM (ribbon cutting); 10 AM–6 PM (celebration)

In addition to the ribbon cutting, the public is invited to join the celebration on Friday, November 7, for a day filled with fun, food, and furry friends. 

“This new Adoption Suite transforms our lobby into an inviting, interactive space where families can meet adoptable pets in a comfortable environment,” said Jami Johanson, Associate Director of Salt Lake County Animal Services. “We are deeply grateful to Mark Miller Subaru and our community donors for helping make this vision a reality and for their ongoing dedication to homeless pets in our community. Their support helps us create meaningful experiences for adopters and provide even more pets the chance to find their forever homes.”

The Grand Opening Celebration will include:

  • Half-Price Adoptions on All Animals: Find your perfect match and take home your new best friend for half the regular adoption fee (VIP pets excluded).
  • Food, Drinks, and Treats: Enjoy a local food truck, sweet treats, and a variety of beverages — including lemonade, hot chocolate, and coffee from Ari’s
  • Fresh Lemonade (available for purchase) — while mingling with adoptable pets.
  • Balloon Animal Artist: A family favorite! JubJub the Clown will be creating fun balloon animals for kids (and the young at heart) from 10 AM to 12 PM.
  • Opportunity Basket Giveaway: Every adopter will receive a free entry to win a dog or cat basket filled with goodies. The winner will be contacted and announced on November 12.
     

While the main celebration takes place Friday, November 7, the half-off adoption promotion will continue through Saturday, November 8, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

The new Adoption Suite serves as a vibrant, engaging space that highlights the shelter’s adoptable pets and reflects Salt Lake County Animal Services’ continued commitment to its no-kill mission and community outreach.
