Salt Lake County Hosts Two Events Focused on Bringing People Together
Welcoming Week 2024 Kickoff and “Love Your Enemies” Book Discussion
Salt Lake County, UT – Salt Lake County is hosting two free public events intended to bring people together on September 13.
What: Welcoming Week 2024 Kickoff (Naturalization Ceremony and Resource Fair)
When: Friday, September 13, 2024, 10 am-2 pm*
Where: Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 W 3100 S, West Valley
Who: Salt Lake County Clerk Lannie Chapman, City mayors, New Americans, public
The resource fair will include booths and resources from a variety of public, private, and nonprofit organizations.
*Proclamation and Naturalization Ceremony, 10 am–12 pm
AND
What: Mayor Wilson's Book and Media Club Discussion with University of Utah Impact Scholar and New York Times Bestselling Author Dr. Arthur C. Brooks.
When: Friday, September 13, 2024, 11:30 am
Where: The Tower at Rice Eccles Stadium, 451 S 1400 E, Salt Lake City

Book: “Love Your Enemies: How Decent People Can Save America from the Culture of Contempt”
A light lunch will be provided and, while supplies last, attendees will receive a copy of the book.
The book discussion event requires RSVP.
