Fireworks and Fire Danger

2025 is shaping up to be a high-risk wildfire season. Fires can ignite and spread rapidly, putting lives, homes, and our natural resources in danger. That's why fire prevention must be a shared responsibility, especially when using fireworks.

In Utah, fireworks are only allowed during specific windows: July 2-5, July 22-25, and around New Year's Eve or Chinese New Year. Outside of these dates, lighting fireworks is prohibited. If you live in a restricted area, fireworks are never allowed.

Know the rules where you live and where you launch. Each city within Salt Lake County sets its own fireworks restrictions. See the map below and contact your local authorities for additional information on restrictions in your area.

Humans cause more than half of Utah's wildfires, and fireworks are a common culprit. By following local restrictions and using fireworks responsibly, you can help protect our communities and open spaces.
