Clark Planetarium offers an out-of-this-world experience, featuring three floors of free exhibits, as well as the breathtaking Hansen Dome Theatre and Northrop Grumman IMAX Theatre.
The Hansen Dome Theatre is a dome-shaped theater with a 55-foot diameter. This 360-degree immersive experience can display accurate star fields, animated films, laser shows, and can even take visitors on a trip through space.
The Northrop Grumman IMAX® Theatre has a screen that is 70 feet wide by 50 feet tall. The theatre showcases documentary films about nature and science, created by professional production teams with stunning visuals and narration.
Clark Planetarium’s New Learning Space Officially Opens with Classes Starting December 4th!
The ribbon has been cut, and we’re thrilled to announce that Clark Planetarium’s brand-new Learning Space is ready to inspire the next generation of explorers! After our grand opening on November 21st, we’re excited to host our very first official class in this state-of-the-art facility on Wednesday, December 4th, at 2 PM. Join us for the inaugural Micro-Wednesday class and be part of history as your family becomes the first to explore and learn in this incredible new environment.
But that’s just the beginning! The new Learning Space will also host Fun Science Fridays, Astro-Tots, and other beloved programs. If you’ve attended these classes on the third floor of the Planetarium before, get ready for some exciting changes. The new classroom is bigger and better, designed to create an even more engaging and immersive learning experience.
Getting to the New Learning Space
The Learning Space is conveniently located at 130 S. 400 W., just 50 yards south of the Planetarium. If you park in the south parking garage, enter the Planetarium then exit through the front (east) doors , turn right, and head straight to the new space. It’s that easy!
