Into the Depths (Grades 2-3)
Partner camp with Natural History Museum of Utah
July 6th - July 9th
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Otherworldly explorers unite! Into the Depths invites 2nd-3rd graders on an exciting journey into the ocean's hidden world. Monday and Tuesday will be spent at the Planetarium, exploring why scientists believe some moons and planets may hide vast oceans beneath their surfaces. Campers will learn how astronauts train underwater to prepare for life in space and compare the challenges of deep-ocean exploration to traveling beyond our planet. Through interactive demonstrations, storytelling, and hands-on activities, students will begin to see how space and the ocean are connected as extreme environments. While at NHMU on Thursday and Friday, campers will travel from sunlit surface waters down into the dark, mysterious deep sea, discovering how animals survive extreme pressure, cold, and darkness. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, and light exploration, students will investigate ocean life, deep-sea adaptations, and the tools scientists use to explore places humans can't easily reach. This camp sparks curiosity and imagination while helping kids understand just how unique Earth is.
